According to AS journalist Javier Miguel, Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal is on pace to return to training more earlier than expected following a protracted absence.
The promising prodigy, who has been out since the start of the 2024/25 season with a damaged anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, will cut his holiday short and return to the club at Ciutat Esportiva on July 1.
Initially, the club expected Bernal to be out for 12 months following surgery.
However, due to his amazing dedication and discipline during recuperation, the schedule has been shortened by about a month, with Bernal projected to be medically cleared by early August.

While Bernal’s style of play does not rely largely on high-intensity physical moves, the team is nonetheless taking precautions. It is envisaged that he would be eased in gradually, with the goal of reaching match sharpness by December.
However, if his improvement continues unabated, Hansi Flick might have Bernal available for selection as early as the La Liga opening.
