Barcelona: Depay negotiating Exit With Dutch Forward Open To Juventus Transfer

Barcelona forward Memphis Depay is negotiating a move away from Camp Nou, with Juventus now leading the race to sign him. The Serie A side is mulling a move for Depay, who is no longer required by the Blaugrana.

Juventus would most likely be able to sign the forward on a free transfer as Barcelona looks to shed players to alleviate financial pressures and register new players such as Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Jules Kounde.

Will Depay Sign With Juventus?

The former Manchester United forwards and his agents are scheduled to meet with Juventus officials to discuss possible agreements.

The conclusion of these discussion will most likely determine Depay’s future, but Juventus are said to be interested in the Dutch international and could offer him a two-year contract.

Depay is interested in joining the Bianconeri, and he may be the first player through the Allianz Stadium doors after a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic is completed.

Why Do Barcelona Need To Offload Players?

Barcelona has placed Depay at the top of a growing transfer list in an effort to cut their wage expenditure.

The signing of Lewandowski also implies that the 28-year-game old’s time at the Catalan club will be limited this season.

Barcelona is hoping to collect up to €100m (£84m/$102m) from player sales, with Frenkie de Jong still attracting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

The departures will allow the club to make a modest dent in its €1.3 billion debt over the last few years.

Martin Braithwaite, Miralem Pjanic, and Samuel Umtiti might all be dropped as Xavi reduces his team for the next season.
