Balotelli: I’m going to fly a helicopter over Nice if we win Ligue 1 title

Mario Balotelli has vowed to fly a helicopter over Nice if he wins the Ligue 1 title this season.

The 26-year-old Italian striker, who has found form once more having left Liverpool for Nice on a free transfer in the summer, is currently top of the French division having only lost one league game so far this season.

Balotelli has featured in half of Nice’s opening 12 fixtures, scoring six times including a brace on his debut as Nice defeated Marseille

‘I’m happy here [at Nice]. I’ve settled in very quickly in this fantastic place,’ he told Mediaset.

‘There are a lot of youngsters in the team and the coach is very good and I’ve found everything favourable. There’s still a long way to go, but if we do win the title, I’m going to fly a helicopter over Nice,’ the striker added.

Asked about life at Anfield after he disastrous £16million transfer to Merseyside, Balotelli claimed the lack of warmth from the Liverpool fans is a big reason why he never settled.

‘Nice’s support is better than Liverpool’s, which doesn’t mean that the fans are better, but that there is more warmth in their support. [Liverpool] did me a favour by selling me.’
