Aston Villa Star Joins Napoli On Loan Until End Of The Season

Aston Villa midfielder, Leander Dendoncker has joined Napoli on loan until the end of the season.

This season, Dendoncker has been a reserve player for Villa. He has made 15 appearances for Unai Emery’s team and scored one goal, which came against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless, only one of those 15 games has been a Premier League start. And he still has two and a half years remaining on his contract, which he signed on the deadline day of 2022.

According to Daily Mail, the Belgian’s deal is rumored to include a £7.7 million buyout clause, which would make the move permanent.

Napoli are trying to get their season back on track. They are currently three points out of the top four in the Serie A, as they are 9th on the log.

With Nicolo Zaniolo, John McGinn, Youri Tielemans, and Douglaz Luiz ahead of him in the midfield pecking order, Villa are well-stocked in the department.

The 32-year-old Belgian international Dendoncker has played in the Premier League and garnered experience in Europe during his time at Anderlecht.

After spending heavily in the summer transfer window to bring in players like Tielemans, Zaniolo, Pau Torres, and Moussa Diaby, Villa will need to let players go this month.

Among those permitted to depart Villa Park are Calum Chambers and Bertrand Traore, who both had observatory roles in Villa’s incredible Premier League season this season.
