Mikel Arteta has admitted he doesn’t know if Mesut Ozil will ever wear the Arsenal shirt again.
Ozil hasn’t featured for Arteta since the season restarted with the 31-year-old’s future at the club in doubt.
Asked whether Ozil would be seen again playing in an Arsenal shirt, Arteta said: ‘I don’t know.
‘He’s training with the team and he’s available for selection and we’ll make decisions on a daily basis.’
Arteta also suggested that Ozil won’t get any special treatment, adding that the playmaker has ‘the same chances as everyone else’ to work his way into the side.
It follows the earlier news that Ozil turned down a move to Fenerbahce after the Turkish club couldn’t match his salary.
Ozil has less than a year left to run on his current contract, which is worth £350,000 a week.
