Arsenal ‘Wants Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Return’ As Celtic Transfer Talks Take A Turn

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a free agent, has reportedly been offered a position on Arsenal’s coaching staff while in talks with Celtic. The former England international has been mulling his future since leaving Besiktas last summer, and he has recently trained with Arsenal.

However, the 32-year-old appears to be on the verge of joining the Scottish champions, and he is likely to go to Glasgow to seal the deal. However, Mikel Arteta is thought to be ready for the former Gunner to join Emirates. According to the Daily Mail, Oxlade-Chamberlain has been working on his UEFA B coaching licence while training with Arsenal.

Arteta is regarded as “a big admirer” and “has an eye on him for a coaching role once he retires” as he seeks increased involvement from former Arsenal players in the club’s backroom operations.

Nonetheless, it is reported that the midfielder informed the manager that he intends to continue his playing career, with a move to Celtic looming.

When asked about previous players’ involvement in the Premier League’s leadership system, Arteta responded, “I adore it. Finally, the club’s history and the people who have lived through it all contribute something unique.

“It’s like an academy player who’s been here since he was eight.” He has something else in them, a unique vibe. “That is the power of it. “I would be delighted to have more. I have some really intimate relationships with some ex-players who have been a part of various teams in the club’s history, which are extremely beneficial.”

When asked about the possibility of signing Oxlade-Chamberlain last week, he said, “We are looking into all options.”
