Arsenal Unlikely To Sign Premier League Star Due To Unavailability Of Funds

Arsenal are reportedly very unlikely to sign Brentford striker, Ivan Toney in the January transfer window due to lack of funds.

Toney, 27, has returned to football today following an eight-month suspension by the FA for violating betting rules.

The talisman proved he could not only play in the Championship but also in the Premier League with 20 goals and four assists in 33 games during the previous campaign.

The English striker is being pursued by Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea. However, the Gunners’ efforts may be impeded by their inability to spend money as a result of Financial Fair Play regulations.

Despite having a contract that expires in the summer of 2025, the striker is expected to leave Brentford before then.

According to a journalist, Ryan Taylor, who stated on The Spurs Chat podcast as per CaughtOffisde that Arsenal lacks the funds to sign the player in January.

He said: “Ivan Toney is expected to leave Brentford at the end of the season. My understanding is that he will stay at Brentford this January.

“There has been interest from Arsenal, but my latest information from Arsenal is that there’s just not enough money and finances in terms of FFP records to pull off a deal like this.”

In an effort to solve his team’s goal-scoring problems, Mikel Arteta is currently searching for a striker.

In addition to losing three straight games, the Gunners were eliminated from the FA Cup by Liverpool.

To completely turn around his team’s season and have a shot at winning the Premier League, Arteta needs to add more players to his squad.
