Arsenal have secured the transfer of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in a deal worth £32million.

After missing out on Raphinha and Lisandro Martinez, Arsenal has reopened their transfer window with the signing of Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City. The Gunners have been interested in the Ukraine international for much of the summer, with Zinchenko capable of adding both quality and versatility to the squad.

How Much Did Arsenal Pay For Zinchenko?

Arsenal reportedly paid an initial cost of £30m ($36m) to bring Zinchenko to the Emirates Stadium, with a potential £2m ($2.4m) payable in add-ons if certain targets are completed.

What Is The Length Of Zinchenko’s Contract With Arsenal?

The 25-year-old has agreed to a four-year contract with Arsenal, which will keep him in north London until the summer of 2026.

What Position Will Zichenko Play At Arsenal?

Zinchenko has spent the majority of his time at City playing as a left-backup, back’s as Pep Guardiola has been eager to utilise his vivacious style and adept possession skills.

Zinchenko plays as a play-making No.8 for Ukraine, and it is in this role that Arsenal will aim to use him the most as they look to generate more chances for the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Zinchenko’s City teammate, Gabriel Jesus.

Who will The Gunners Sign Next In The Summer Transfer Window?

Arsenal have experienced one of the busiest summers among Premier League clubs, looking to build on its fifth-place performance in 2021-22.

Gabriel Jesus, who they secured from Manchester City for £45m ($55m), has been without a doubt their biggest signing.

Additionally, they have acquired the services of young Brazilian Marquinhos, American goalkeeper Matt Turner, and Portugal midfielder Fabio Vieira, who recently left Porto for a reported £30m ($37m).

While Zinchenko may be Arsenal’s fifth summer signing, the club is certain to remain active in the market.

Arteta has long wanted Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans, and the Gunners were keen to sign the Belgian midfielder earlier this summer, but pulled back to focus on other signings, including that of Jesus.

However, it would not be surprising if they rekindled their pursuit of Tielemans, who is expected to cost around £25m ($30.5m).
