Arsenal Receive Good News Following Title Setback

Arsenal players fell to the ground as the ball struck the back of the net.

David Raya was so upset with Emi Buendia’s late victory at Villa Park that he repeatedly pounded the turf.

The Gunners shot-stopper is difficult to blame though. Before Buendia broke their hearts on Saturday, they were on the verge of earning a hard-earned point.

Arsenal haven’t lost much this season, and this was their first since late August. Buendia’s goal came at the very end of the game, and it was painful as well.

Aston Villa are now only three points behind Arsenal, who now lead Manchester City by just two points at the top of the Premier League.

Now, everyone is watching how Arsenal react. They enjoyed an 18-game unbeaten streak across all competitions before Saturday.

Piero Hincapie was Arteta’s sole available center back on Saturday due to their growing injury problems.

Arsenal’s Injury And Fixtures’ Lists Getting Easier

According to the Evening Standard, the good news for Arsenal is that both their injury crisis and the schedule are becoming easier.

Hopefully, William Saliba will return soon, allowing Jurrien Timber to return to right-back rather than cover at the centre of defense.

Arsenal will host Wolves on Saturday, which is another luxury for Arteta. Wolves  are the worst team in the Premier League, and while Arsenal try to recover, it is difficult to imagine a better match.

Before then, the Gunners will play in the Champions League on Wednesday as they travel to Club Brugge.

They are at the top of the Champions League, much like in the Premier League, thus Arteta has the chance to rotate.

With three games remaining, Arsenal lead Manchester City in ninth place by five points, virtually guaranteeing them a spot in the top eight of the league phase.
