Arsenal Looking To Part Ways With Zinchenko Following Poor Performance Against Aston Villa

Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko has no future at the team and will likely be let go this summer.

One report claims as much, following Arsenal’s devastating loss to Aston Villa over the weekend that ended their chances of winning a Premier League title for the first time in 20 years.

The Ukrainian received harsh criticism on social media for his performance, especially in the second half of the Gunners’ uncommon start.

It appears that Arsenal may try to replace Zinchenko completely this summer. Jakub Kiwior has been preferred in recent weeks due to the Pole’s superior defensive coverage.

Despite the 27-year-old’s contract being in its final two years, The Athletic claims that Arsenal has not extended an offer to him.

Although Zinchenko’s contract with Arsenal ends in June, it appears that he will not be staying in north London for longer than two years.

Sporting director Edu Gaspar has been proactive in locking down important members of the squad at this point in their contracts.

FourFourTwo believes it’s wise to move on from the former Manchester City player. The system has advanced past the Ukrainian’s abilities, so Arsenal no longer depends on him for their buildup.

Moreover, his advantages in possession no longer exceed his disadvantages on defense.
