Arsenal Board ‘Seeking The Return’ Of Alexis Sanchez To The Emirates

Alexis Sanchez’s return to the Emirates Stadium this summer is something the Arsenal leadership are keen to accomplish, according to reports.

The Chilean international Sanchez scored 80 goals in 166 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, making him a huge hit during his tenure at the club.

However, after leaving Arsenal in 2018, the 34-year-old struggled for four and a half seasons at Manchester United and Inter Milan before finding his footing at French club Marseille.

Sanchez joined the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer from Inter Milan after the Italian giants agreed to mutually terminate his contract at the end of last season.

The Chilean has contributed 17 goals and three assists in all competitions for Marseille with Sanchez scoring two of those goals in the Champions League this term.

And now AS Chile journalist José Tomás Fernández Pumarino claims that Marseille have yet to reach an agreement over a new contract for Sanchez.

He will become a free agent at the end of the season and Pumarino insist that ‘at Arsenal there is a recommendation from the management to seek the return of Alexis’.

Sanchez left Arsenal to go to Man Utd in a swap deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan in 2018 but he was a massive flop at United.
