Arsenal and Spurs ‘Chasing’ £100M Newcastle Star

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in race to sign Newcastle United forward, Alexander Isak as they bid to exploit the Magpies Financial situation.

Isak, 24, plundered two penalties in Saturday’s 4-3 victory over West Ham to score his 13th and 14th Premier League goals of the season. The Swede, who moved from Real Sociedad to Newcastle in 2022, has become a fan favorite in the northeast very quickly.

But if the Magpies aren’t playing in the Champions League the next season, then their hands may have to be forced. To balance the books, Eddie Howe’s team may have to let go of some of their best players, including Isak.

The Sun, as claimed by Daily Star stated that both Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping an eye on Isak and may be prepared to make a £100 million offer for the 24-year-old.

During the international break, Isak himself admitted that “if things show up, things can happen”. However, Howe was confident he could keep him: “He’s an outstanding talent and no one connected with Newcastle would want to lose him.”

Howe added: “Isak was excellent against West Ham. He didn’t score in open play but his two penalties were outstanding and his general play was very good. His link play, athleticism, he looked in a really good place.”

Ivan Toney, a striker for Brentford who provided an assist over the weekend, has also been linked to both teams. And they may focus on him if Newcastle are unwilling to persuade Isak to leave.
