Ansu Fati Very Likely To Depart Barcelona This Summer

Barcelona forward, Ansu Fati is very much likely to depart the Catalan club at the end of the season.

According to Llus Mascaró, the editor-in-chief of the Spanish daily Sport, the player is currently “more outside of Barcelona than inside.”

Fati has been left out of the starting lineup under manager Xavi this season. This is as a result of injuries and strong displays from competitors in his position. As a result, he has only been in the league’s starting eleven 37% of the time and played in only 42% of the available minutes.

Since his father, who serves as one of his agents, openly criticized the club over the past week or so. There has been more speculation about his future.

If he becomes available in the summer, a number of teams are rumored to be interested in a deal. Including Arsenal, where Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge fan and thinks the player would be a “dream” signing.

Barcelona’s financial situation is also at play; in order to comply with Spanish financial regulations. Especially with regard to their wage bill, they urgently need to make significant sales over the summer.

“I think that Ansu Fati is always more outside of Barcelona than inside,” he said.

“It is clear that Barca this summer will have to make some operation with a footballer in their squad to bring in money. Fati is the ‘favourite’ to leave.

“His goal at the weekend served to vindicate himself and put himself on the market. It demonstrated that he is a good footballer who is not having a good season.” Mascaro added as per Sport Witness.
