Ancelotti Believes Real Madrid Teenage Prodigy Can Play In First Team

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, believes academy graduate, Nico Paz, has the ability to play for the first squad, according to reports.

And that is one of the main reasons why he has been training regularly with the senior setup in recent weeks.

The Argentine attacking midfielder is one of the most gifted young talents coming up through the La Fabrica ranks and has high expectations from people inside the club.

For the club’s Castilla team, the young prodigy has made 24 appearances, scoring two goals and assisting three others. He has also scored five goals in seven games for the Under-19 team in the UEFA Youth League.

Nico had been called up to train with the first team quite a few times last season but is yet to make his official debut for the club.

Although, it must be noted that he was the only outfield player from the youth team that was on the pre-season tour of the USA earlier this summer and got minutes in the friendlies as well.

Since returning to Spain, Nico has continued to train with the senior squad and could eventually be handed his official first-team debut for Real Madrid in the coming weeks.

Competition for places in the attacking midfield region is tough, though, with the likes of Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Brahim Diaz ahead of him in the pecking order.

However, Ancelotti believes that the Argentine prodigy has what it takes to play for the first team and his time could eventually come some time during the course of the current season.
