After Lionel Messi And Kylian Mbappe, Neymar Wants To Leave Paris Saint-Germain

The 31-year-old Brazilian wants to return to Barcelona, the club he left in the summer of 2017 to join PSG. Given the Spanish club’s precarious financial state, it remains to be seen whether Barcelona can pay Neymar.

Lionel Messi has departed, Kylian Mbappe is refusing to sign a contract extension, and now Neymar wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain. Paris is in shambles.

According to the French daily L’Equipe, Neymar has informed PSG that he wishes to leave the club this summer after six years in Paris.

The report claimed that the Brazilian has informed his club that he intends to leave before the end of the transfer window. Neymar, now 31, wants a return to Barcelona, the team he left in the summer of 2017 to sign for PSG.

The protests by PSG’s fans outside Neymar’s house in May have reportedly affected Neymar and this is the catalyst for the player wanting to leave.

Mbappe will remain out of the squad after declining a new deal with the club.

PSG’s first team returned to training in France on Monday after a pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea. However, PSG executives decided on Sunday that Mbappe will remain with the so-called “loft group,” which is separate from the ‘A’ main squad.

The “loft group” consists of players for sale who are not in PSG’s plans, since the club is constantly reshaping its roster.
