Abraham: John Terry stays in touch and checks in on me

Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham has revealed that club captain John Terry has stayed in contact with him and is checking on his progress at Bristol City.

Abraham has enjoyed an excellent start to his loan spell with the Championship side, with the forward having scored eleven goals in 16 games across all competitions.

Terry, a product of Chelsea’s youth system himself, has been eager to congratulate Abraham on his goalscoring exploits.

As reported by Sky Sports, Abraham said: “Yeah [Terry] still gets in touch. I think he keeps up with the games and how well I’m doing then he gets back to me to say congratulations, just little things like that which obviously is a good thing for me and it gives me confidence knowing people [at Chelsea] are aware of me.”

Having previously scored with regularity for Chelsea at youth level, Abraham has now taken that form onto the senior stage and the 19-year-old will be eager to continue to perform consistently throughout the campaign.

The next aim for Abraham will be to establish himself in the Chelsea first- team although doing so certainly won’t be an easy task given the lack of youth products that have made it through to the senior squad at Stamford Bridge in recent years.
