Liverpool are weighing up alternative options in the transfer market after Paris Saint-Germain moved into a strong position to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer.
The 19-year-old had been identified as Liverpool’s preferred replacement for Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield following the end of the 2025/26 season.

The Reds reportedly had an opening €100 million offer rejected and were preparing an improved bid, but the situation has changed rapidly.
Reports now suggest Diomande favours a move to PSG, with the French champions already holding talks with RB Leipzig.
A deal could exceed £128 million, making it one of the biggest transfers in Bundesliga history and leaving Liverpool facing the prospect of missing out on their top target.
Liverpool Explore Alternative Options
Despite refusing to completely abandon the pursuit of Diomande, Liverpool have already drawn up a shortlist of alternative wingers.
Cologne teenager Said El Mala has emerged as a leading candidate after impressing with his pace and attacking output in Germany.
Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh, Lille youngster Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Portuguese winger Francisco Conceicao are also among the players being monitored by the club’s recruitment team.
Bournemouth’s Rayan remains another option, although his reported £130 million release clause could prove a major obstacle, reports Team Talk.
Meanwhile, Liverpool could also explore a move for PSG winger Bradley Barcola, whose future has become uncertain after contract extension talks reportedly stalled.
With PSG also closing in on Diomande and targeting additional attacking reinforcements, Liverpool may soon be forced to move quickly for one of their alternative targets as preparations continue for life after Salah.
