Alan Shearer has picked Arsenal’s three Player of the Year hopefuls, with the club poised to win the Premier League.
Arsenal were in danger of losing another Premier League crown after suffering a little wobble at the conclusion of the season, giving title rivals Manchester City optimism.
However, Mikel Arteta’s team has recovered well following a setback to Manchester City last month, bringing them within touching distance of their first Premier League trophy since 2004.
Arsenal will become Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years after defeating already-relegated Burnley on Monday night and London rivals Crystal Palace on the final day.
Arsenal may not even require two victories, as Man City must defeat in-form Bournemouth away and Europa League finalists Aston Villa to have any hope of catching the Gunners.

A long-awaited Premier League title triumph would most certainly result in an Arsenal player receiving the Player of the Year award, and Shearer has identified three prime prospects in Arteta’s team.
After Gary Lineker declared that he would vote for Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, Premier League record goalscorer and England great Shearer stepped up to support three Arsenal players.
Fernandes has had another fantastic season at Old Trafford, equaling the Premier League record for assists in a season when United defeated Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
“Bruno Fernandes is just a joyous footballer to watch,” Lineker stated on The Rest Is Football podcast. ‘He has equalled the Premier League assists record and received the Football Writers Award.
‘I believe he is a strong contender for Football of the Year. We frequently give these accolades to players from winning teams, but this is simply the finest Footballer of the Year, and I find it difficult to compete with him.
‘He would earn my vote, actually, since he’s such a terrific player to watch, with excellent passing range and vision.’
Shearer responded to Lineker, saying, “I would throw three Arsenal players at you for that.”
‘If Arsenal wins the Premier League, which we anticipate them to accomplish, I’d put David Raya, Gabriel, and Declan Rice in there.
‘I’m not taking anything away from Bruno Fernandes; I’m a tremendous admirer of his, and he’s been amazing; who knows where Manchester United would be without him.
‘But, certainly, I would include those three Arsenal players as well.’
Lineker said, ‘Yeah, I wouldn’t mind if any of those three were named Footballer of the Year.
‘Bruno is perhaps the only player outside of Arsenal who can help them win the Premier League.’
Arsenal are anticipated to be far too strong for relegated Burnley on Monday night, and Chris Sutton sees nothing but a comfortable home victory.
‘This is Arsenal’s title. “They are not going to blow it now against Burnley,” the ex-Premier League striker told BBC Sport.
