According to AS, Barcelona midfielder Gavi will be included to Luis de la Fuente’s final 26-man Spain team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
After missing most of the season due to injury, the La Masia graduate has had a strong run of form since his return in March. And it appears that he has secured a seat on the plane to North America.
Gavi plans to travel to the World Cup.
From being out for 192 days with a severe knee injury that required surgery to being a crucial factor in earning the La Liga title, Gavi has now hopped back aboard the World Cup train just in time.
The Barcelona midfielder’s participation would be a reward for his perseverance, trust, and performances.

Gavi was a key player for both Luis Enrique and De la Fuente on the Spain squad before suffering a terrible ACL injury in November 2023.
While he temporarily returned to the Spain squad for the 2025 Nations League campaign after healing, another setback occurred in the shape of a knee ailment requiring arthroscopic surgery.’

After re-establishing himself as a vital member of Flick’s Barcelona, Gavi is poised to be named to Spain’s World Cup team.
And he will not be the only player from Barcelona’s dressing room to be called up. Joan Garcia is also anticipated to be selected, while regulars in the La Roja lineup include Pau Cubarsi, Pedri, Fermin Lopez, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal.
