Mikel Arteta Wants Arsenal To Seal ‘Shock’ Transfer For £265,000-A-Week Star

According to Sports Boom, Mikel Arteta is pressing Arsenal to make a ‘shock’ move to re-sign Bayern Munich striker Serge Gnabry this summer.

The Gunners have had a successful season, but they are fighting to avoid concluding without a trophy. They are currently leading the Premier League by three points, having played one more game than Manchester City, and are also in the Champions League semi-finals against Atletico Madrid.

However, following some troubles in front of goal from open play this season, the club is looking to add additional firepower to their team for next season, and a deal to bring Gnabry back to north London is now being considered.

Arsenal Wants to Re-Sign Gnabry.

Gnabry got a new deal with Bayern at £265,000 per week earlier this year, which runs until 2028, and has been a regular under Vincent Kompany this season, albeit injuries cut his season short.

However, Bayern are also looking to freshen up their offensive options, and Gnabry, who is now in his 30s and earning a lot of money, might be moved on to help balance the books for new arrivals.

Arteta is said to see the Germany international as ‘the one that got away’ at the club, having gone through the system but only making 18 appearances for the first squad before leaving for Werder Bremen in 2016.

Arsenal are not in a rush to complete a deal early in the window because they want to see how he recovers first. However, they intend to closely monitor his rehabilitation over the summer before making a move, with ‘leaked information’ from within the club indicating that he is right at the top of their shortlist.

Gnabry Return Would Be a Gamble.

Nobody in north London doubts Gnabry’s skill and ability, and he would undoubtedly add something fresh to the club’s assault.

However, given his recent injury history and age, any big-money deal would be a major gamble, and Arsenal is typically leery of taking such chances. The attack is stacked with youthful talent like as Bukayo Saka, Ebere Eze, Ethan Nwaneri, and Max Dowman, and someone like Gnabry might easily hamper them as much as assist them.

A contract for such a talented player does not come up very frequently, but it is also a significant risk, and the Gunners will need to consider hard before spending the money.
