Chelsea Willing To Sell £40M Star After Just One Year

Alejandro Garnacho could reportedly be sold by Chelsea this summer.

According to talkSPORT, the Stamford Bridge hierarchy acknowledges that Garnacho’s £40 million deal is not going to be successful.

Given that Garnacho only joined Chelsea in August of last year, the club’s stance constitutes a stunning fall from grace for him.

The Argentinian joined Stamford Bridge from Manchester United, where he had demonstrated great potential but was judged unsuitable for the strict tactical framework of then-manager Ruben Amorim.

Garnacho Struggling At Chelsea

However, the 21-year-old has found it difficult to live up to his price tag since moving.

Only five of his eight goals and four assists for the Blues this season have come in the Premier League.

Furthermore, he scored four goals in FA Cup and League Cup matches against Wrexham, Port Vale, and Cardiff City—all teams in lower leagues than Chelsea.

Chelsea have taken a harsh stance against him only a few days after Garnacho struggled against his former employers in a 1-0 loss last Saturday.

He started the game on the bench, but Estevao’s hamstring injury forced him to enter the game in the 16th minute.

Unfortunately, Matheus Cunha’s goal proved to be the difference, thus Garnacho did not get the last laugh over United.

Shaw, Other United Teammates Aim Dig At Garnacho

As if the outcome wasn’t cruel enough, Luke Shaw, a former Red Devils teammate, seemed to make fun of Garnacho on social media after the game.

Shaw posted a carousel of pictures to commemorate the victory, but the first picture he posted showed the left-back shoving Garnacho to the ground.

A number of Red Devils stars added their voices to the mockery in the comments section underneath Shaw’s post.

United skipper Bruno Fernandes, who delivered a man-of-the-match display, shared a GIF that included in the text: “That’s a violation.”

Centre-back Ayden Heaven shared a GIF relating to firing shots at the Chelsea winger and out-of-favour attacker Joshua Zirkzee commented: “Nice one mate.”
