Aaron Ramsey, a former midfielder for Wales and Arsenal, has announced his retirement from football.
Ramsey left Liga MX team Pumas after just six games, making his final competitive appearance in September 2025.
The 35-year-old is an integral part of Welsh football and has represented his nation in three important competitions. He scored 21 goals in 86 games for Wales.
“It has been my privilege to wear the Welsh shirt and experience so many incredible moments in it,” Ramsey said in a statement as reported by ESPN.
“It would not have been possible without the incredible input of all the managers I have played under and all the staff who have helped me in many ways.”

Ramsey’s tenure with Arsenal, where he made over 250 appearances and scored 40 goals, defined his club career. He scored the winners in two FA Cup finals, cementing his place in the north London club’s history.
Ramsey played for Juventus, Rangers, Nice, and Cardiff after leaving Arsenal in 2019.
“Thank you to all the clubs I’ve been lucky enough to play for. Thank you to all the managers and staff that have helped me be able to live my dream and play at the highest level,” he said.
