Manchester United could pay up to $21.4 million (£15.9m) following the dismissal of head coach Ruben Amorim.
The figure was disclosed in a New York Stock Exchange filing, outlining financial consequences tied to Amorim’s exit, reports Daily Mail.
Amorim was sacked on January 5 after 14 months in charge, shortly after making controversial remarks regarding his role within the club hierarchy.
The filing confirmed a £6.3m charge related to writing off intangible assets connected to his appointment from Sporting CP in November 2024.
In addition, United have made provisions of up to £15.9m, representing the maximum potential settlement owed to Amorim and his coaching staff.
Financial Impact and Interim Change
The final settlement amount may depend on clauses such as whether Amorim secures another managerial role soon.

United moved quickly to appoint former midfielder Michael Carrick on a contract running until the end of the season.
Carrick has overseen an upturn in form, guiding the club into fourth place in the Premier League ahead of their upcoming fixture against Crystal Palace.
Despite improved results on the pitch, the financial hit underscores the significant cost of managerial turnover at Old Trafford.
