£86m Antony Announces His Arrival In The Premier League

After Antony opened the scoring on his debut, two additional goals from Marcus Rashford in the second half were enough to see Manchester United defeat Arsenal 3-1 and win their third consecutive game.

The Brazilian made a fantastic start to life at United by scoring a first-half goal with a cool first-time finish after arriving for £86m on Deadline Day from Ajax.

The first ever Man United goal for Antony came after VAR controversially disallowed Gabriel Martinelli’s brilliant finish in the 12th minute for a foul on Christian Eriksen by Martin Odegaard in the build-up. Arsenal deservedly levelled early in the second half when Bukayo Saka rolled home in the 60th minute.

However, six minutes later, Rashford scored from Bruno Fernandes’ through-ball to give United the advantage once more.

Eriksen then set up Rashford’s second goal, a breakaway strike in the 75th minute, to secure Man United’s fourth consecutive victory and bring them up to fifth place.

The Gunners’ unbeaten start comes to an end and United are now three points behind them on the table. Meawnhile with the loss, Arsenal are now only one point ahead of Manchester City and Tottenham.
