Victor Gyokeres has addressed rumors that Arsenal is considering making him an offer to Atletico Madrid in exchange for Julian Alvarez.
Arsenal has long been interested in the Atletico attacker, who has emerged as a major player in the summer transfer market after both Real Madrid and Barcelona rejected their bids.
Earlier this month, Real Madrid’s €150 million (£130 million) deal for Alvarez was rejected after Barcelona infuriated Atleti for what they considered to be an improper transfer pursuit, According to standard news.

Despite rumors that the Gunners were coming up with ways to lower that amount, Atleti maintains that Alvarez can only depart if his €500 million (£431 million) release clause is activated.
Mikel Arteta reportedly considered making a move for the World Cup winner last summer before deciding on Gyokeres, indicating that Arsenal had been interested in him for more than a year.
Gyokeres has now been questioned regarding rumors that he may leave Arsenal.
Before Sweden’s World Cup round of 32 match against France, Gyokeres downplayed rumors about his future.
“I feel very comfortable at Arsenal, but it’s flattering to see that clubs are interested,” he remarked.
“After the season we have had, I only have positive feelings.”
Asked how he handles transfer rumours during the tournament, Gyokeres said: “Nothing. I’m here, have a fairly important match, and that is the main focus.”
