United Stars Withdraw From International Duty In Blow To Ten Hag

Manchester United duo, Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen have reportedly withdrawn from the Danish national team through injury.

Both players were taken off during United’s Saturday 1-0 victory over Luton Town at Old Trafford. After suffering a knee injury in the first half, Eriksen was replaced by Mason Mount, and ten minutes before the end of the encounter, Hojlund hobbled straight towards the tunnel while clutching his hamstring.

Both were scheduled to team up with their Danish colleagues for the forthcoming Euro 2024 qualifying matches against Northern Ireland and Slovenia.

However, according to Manchester Evening News, it has been confirmed on Monday morning that Jens Stryger Larsen and Jesper Lindstrom will take their position.

Erik ten Hag maintained on Saturday that United would need to wait for more assessment before obtaining a clear picture.

As a result, neither Hojlund nor Eriksen had received an update from United. When asked about the most recent injury concern, the Dutchman was unable to provide much insight into how serious their setbacks were.

What Did Ten Hag Say About The Injured Duo?

“In this moment, I can’t comment anything about it because I don’t know the assessment,” Ten Hag said.

“You have to wait 24 hours. Give them and the medical (team) 24 hours to see what is the problem, if there is a problem.”

As the Red Devils continue to lose first-team players, Hojlund and Eriksen are the most recent players to sustain injury. Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, Lisandro Martinez, and Casemiro were among the players missing from Ten Hag’s squad on Saturday against newly promoted Luton Town.

“That is our season; so many injuries,” Ten Hag added on Saturday.

“Therefore, you have a squad, but we have talked many times about it. Hopefully players are coming back and those new injuries aren’t too bad.”
