Tuchel Reveals Mass International Withdrawal Of Arsenal Stars Looks ‘Suspicious’

England manager Thomas Tuchel maintains that there is no reason to question the integrity of the four Three Lions stars while acknowledging that the withdrawal of 11 Arsenal players from international duty appears “suspicious.”

Noni Madueke hobbled out of Friday’s 1-1 draw against Uruguay and has since returned to Arsenal, while Eberechi Eze withdrew.

Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice did not arrive at camp until Saturday, but following medical examinations, they were both returned to the Gunners.

The quartet are withdrawing from international duty alongside Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, William Saliba, Gabriel, Jurrien Tumber, Piero Hancapie, and Martin Zubimendi.

Arsenal are still fighting on three fronts in an effort to halt their lengthy trophy drought and win their first Premier League title in 22 years.

They are nine points ahead of Manchester City in the fight for the championship, but the Sky Blues still have a game to play the Gunners at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta’s team’s dreams of winning a quadruple were dashed after City defeated Arsenal in the Carabao Cup final prior to the international break, and Pep Guardiola’s team are already eliminated from the Champions League.

Tuchel Speaks

According to the Mirror, Tuchel insists there are no doubts over his players’ honesty. “Everyone can do the math and it’s a lot of players, of course,” he said. “During the situation, it looks a bit suspicious but I can only talk for our players.
