Real Madrid Are Targeting A Move For Man City Midfielder, It’s Not Rodri

Real Madrid’s midfield is plainly in dire need of a major renovation, and it appears that club president Florentino Perez has finally identified his key target.

Following another terribly depressing season in which Los Blancos appear to have surrendered the La Liga crown to Barcelona for the second year in a row, major changes are expected at the Bernabeu.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid is actively planning an ambitious summer raid on Manchester City to sign Tijjani Reijnders, their Dutch international midfielder.

Real Madrid had the 27-year-old on their radar during his outstanding time at AC Milan, but it was Manchester City who eventually swooped in and took him to the Etihad in summer 2025.

After two disappointing seasons, the Spanish giants are ready to take immediate steps to restart their stalled enterprise.

The club’s administration is desperately looking for a technical leader who can provide vision, balance, and much-needed personality in the heart of the park.

Finally, the forthcoming summer transfer window is shaping up to be a crucial moment for Real Madrid.

They are on track to finish the season without winning a single title, which is completely surprising given Real Madrid’s high standards.

Manchester City’s midfielder has struggled at Etihad this season.

Getting a complete, energetic midfielder like Reijnders from Manchester City would be a huge statement of purpose.

It remains to be seen whether the Dutchman alone will be able to resolve their midfield woes. Perhaps they require more than one player for that post.

However, Reijnders shown his consistency at AC Milan, and Real Madrid would be delighted to get that version of the Dutchman.

According to recent sources, the Dutch midfielder is widely linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium following his limited playing time under Pep Guardiola.
