Newcastle United Launch Huge Bid To Youssoufa Moukoko

Newcastle United are reportedly willing to offer a lucrative contract to Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Youssoufa Moukoko.

Despite their FA Cup exit at the weekend, the Magpies are having their best season in a decade as they aim to finish in the top four of the Premier League standings.

They currently sit third in the table, but there are only two points separating Eddie Howe’s side and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.

Although Newcastle face a battle to qualify for the Champions League, discussions about potential additions during the summer will already be underway at St James’ Park.

While at least one new face is expected before the end of the month, the next major deal is likely to take place in the summer.

Newcastle have set their sights on winning the race for Moukoko’s signature, according to the Evening Standard.

The 18-year-old has just entered the final six months of his Dortmund contract and is now free to speak with foreign clubs about a free transfer.

The possibility of the Germany international continuing his career at the Westfalenstadion, where he has already made 59 appearances, remains.

However, the longer the teenager remains without a contract extension with the Bundesliga club, the greater the interest in his services.

Newcastle have reportedly discussed offering Moukoko a long-term contract worth £150,000 per week in order to discourage some of their rivals.

Chelsea, Manchester United, and Barcelona are reportedly debating whether to take a similar action now that they have the chance to sign one of European football’s top prospects for nothing.

Newcastle already has three players who can play in their forward line, including Callum Wilson and club-record signing Alexander Isak.
