Mourinho Admits He Still Has One ‘Dream’ Job To Take Following Roma Sacking

Following his sacking from AS Roma, Jose Mourinho has admitted there is still one job he is yet to take.

Tuesday marked the end of the 60-year-old’s two and a half years at Stadio Olimpico. The Portuguese manager’s departure was confirmed by the club in a statement.

They are currently ninth in the Serie A standings and were eliminated from the Coppa Italia by local rivals Lazio in Mourinho’s final game in charge.

However, Roma advanced to the Europa League play-off round after battling all the way to the competition’s final in the previous season.

Additionally, Mourinho led them to their first trophy in fourteen years two seasons ago—the Europa Conference League title.

The renowned former manager of Chelsea and Inter Milan is currently searching for a new role. And there are several options available to him.

If Chelsea decide to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino, he could make a third stint back to the club. A move to the Saudi Pro League is also on the cards.

However, coaching a national team might become an option as well.

Even though Mourinho has supposedly previously expressed interest in leading the England team. Chelsea legend Frank Lebouef asserts that Mourinho actually has his sights set on another position.

What Dream Job Did Mourinho Admitted He Desires?

Speaking with ESPNFC as echoed by SportBible, the former France defender clarified: “I remember interviewing Mr Mourinho when he was at Madrid or Chelsea when he came over to Los Angeles.

“He admitted that the last thing he would love to do in his coaching career would be to get the Portuguese national team job. I think that’s going to be his goal.

“It’s tricky right now with Roberto [Martinez], but I really think he can be patient and see how it goes during the Euros, and then maybe jump into the seat if he has the chance to.”
