Real Madrid  still looking for right-back reinforcements in the transfer market, but one of their most coveted targets may have already passed them by.

According to Defensa Central, Manchester United has made its position on Diogo Dalot known.

The English club sees the Portuguese international as an important element of their ambition and has no intention of letting him depart Old Trafford this summer.

Dalot’s name has lately attracted interest in Real Madrid’s sporting conversations, following the announcement that Dani Carvajal would depart at the conclusion of the season.

In that sense, new manager Jose Mourinho believed to like the Manchester United star.

However, the operation looks to be incredibly tough because Dalot is under contract until 2028, and Manchester United show no indications of softening their attitude.

It is well known that buying a right-back is one of Real Madrid’s top priorities.

Although Dalot is adored, Real Madrid is aware that signing him would most certainly be a costly and hard discussion.

At the same time, the market’s supply of right-backs is limited, thus every alternative is now being considered.

Notably, Real Madrid has placed entire faith in Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose performances have steadily improved despite criticism during his early adaption time.

Nonetheless, Madrid does not want to fall short in such a critical position.

As a result, even if Dalot is eventually unable to join, Real Madrid is willing to promote younger players, with names like Jesus Fortea and David Jimenez being touted.
