Barcelona president Joan Laporta has strongly criticised Real Madrid following fresh accusations connected to the long-running Negreira controversy recently publicly.

Laporta responded after Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claimed the club had been unfairly denied several league titles previously historically.

Speaking during the Koeman Cup by Fundacion Sportium event, Laporta dismissed the allegations and defended Barcelona against growing criticism recently again.

The Barcelona president insisted the Negreira case was built on false claims and accused Real Madrid of creating unnecessary distractions publicly lately, reports Barca Universal.

According to Laporta, Madrid are using Barcelona to shift attention away from their disappointing performances and lack of trophies during recent seasons.

Laporta Defends Barcelona’s Success

Laporta claimed Real Madrid invested heavily in rebuilding their squad but still failed to win major trophies during the past two campaigns.

He highlighted Barcelona’s recent success, pointing to consecutive La Liga titles, Spanish Super Cups, and a Copa del Rey triumph recently.

The president also warned Barcelona would respond strongly whenever rival clubs attempted using the Catalan giants for political or institutional attacks publicly.

Laporta praised the current Barcelona squad, coaching staff, and overall atmosphere, insisting the club has regained respect across European football again.

He added that rivals now fear facing Barcelona because of their strong mentality, attractive football, and continued success under the current project.

Laporta also expressed confidence ahead of Barcelona Femeni’s Women’s Champions League final, praising the squad’s winning mentality and determination before kickoff.
