Manchester United are likely to double down on their strategy of recruiting players with Premier League experience during the summer window, putting some of their competitors on notice that they are want their stars.
Last summer, United changed their strategy by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71 million, focusing on players with league experience.
Cunha and Mbeumo both struck the ground running after their transfers to Old Trafford, and the rapid success of those agreements suggests that United’s recruitment team will continue to prefer Premier League experience.

United’s top target to replace Casemiro is Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, but they are also looking at midfielders across the league, including Carlos Baleba (Brighton), Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Matheus Fernandes (West Ham), Alex Scott (Bournemouth), and Joao Gomes (Wolves), Reported on youtube.
Morgan Rogers, an offensive midfielder for Aston Villa, is also under consideration for transfer. The 23-year-old is a player Michael Carrick knows well, having coached him at Middlesbrough, and he may play on the left while also being considered a long-term successor for Bruno Fernandes.
While players with league experience will be prioritized, United’s summer activity will not be limited to domestic transactions. They have expressed interest in Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni and RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, as well as Eintracht Frankfurt left-back Nathaniel Brown.
But, buoyed by how quickly Cunha and Mbeumo settled into life at Old Trafford, the shift in strategy toward Premier League-proven players is expected to continue.
