Man United Plans To Sign Brazilian Player To Replace Casemiro

Manchester United are stepping up their pursuit of Atalanta midfielder Ederson as they look to replace Casemiro, who is expected to leave at the end of the season.

The Brazilian’s departure has forced INEOS to accelerate plans for a new defensive midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

United have already been linked with several alternatives, including Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest, Sunderland’s Noah Sadiki, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba, and Leeds United’s Ao Tanaka as a more affordable option.

However, Ederson has emerged as one of the leading targets.

Three-way transfer battle emerging for Ederson

The 26-year-old Atalanta midfielder is also attracting strong interest from Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan, setting up a potential three-way transfer battle.

Reports suggest Atletico have already agreed personal terms with the player but are still negotiating a fee with Atalanta.

The Italian club are reportedly demanding around €45–50 million for Ederson and are hoping interest from multiple clubs will spark an “auction” for his signature.

Manchester United are said to have already made “concrete efforts” to explore a deal, reports Team Talk.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also backed Ederson as a strong option for United, highlighting his balance of quality and value.

He explained that the midfielder was previously tracked during Ruben Amorim’s time at Old Trafford and remains highly rated internally.

Romano added that Premier League clubs are now actively monitoring the situation, especially if Atletico fail to finalise an agreement.

He also noted that Ederson’s wage demands are reasonable compared to other elite midfielders, making him an attractive market opportunity.

With Casemiro set to depart and competition increasing, Manchester United are expected to intensify their pursuit of Ederson as the summer window approaches.
