Man City Would Sanction Sale Of Star If £80m Offer Is Received

Man City would not stop Bernardo Silva from joining Barcelona next summer if a significant offer is received, reports say.

During the previous transfer window, the midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Catalan club. Guardiola even hinted at times that he wasn’t convinced Silva would stay.

The Portugal international did not ultimately leave the Etihad, however, City are keen in learning whether Silva will try to leave the team once more at the end of the current campaign.

Reports reveal that the Premier League champions intend to speak with the 28-year-old to “thrash out his future.” Contract negotiations are “expected to take place over the coming months.”

Barcelona, meanwhile, would only need to make a bid of more than £80m to secure Silva’s services for the upcoming summer.

The City No. 20’s current contract will expire at the end of the summer with two years remaining. The club is concerned about the midfield issue given that Ilkay Gundogan’s current deal is slated to finish in 2023.

Addressing the gaps in this position could be the top priority for City’s transfer plan in the upcoming summer. Although, Man City have Rodri, Kalvin Phillips, and Kevin De Bruyne to play in the midfield.

England star, Jude Bellingham, has been linked with a move to Manchester City. However, it is also said that Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Real Madrid are keeping an eye on the Borussia Dortmund star.
