Liverpool are ready to boost up their summer recruitment preparations by pursuing two new attackers following Hugo Ekitike’s catastrophic injury on Tuesday night, according to TEAMtalk.
Following a dismal defence of their Premier League championship, Liverpool would have hoped to overcome a 2-0 first-leg deficit in their Champions League quarter-final against holders Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on Tuesday night.

However, Arne Slot’s side were defeated 2-0 on the night and 4-0 on aggregate by Luis Enrique’s visitors, who also lost Ekitike to a long-term injury.
The Frenchman has ruptured his Achilles tendon and, according to GIVEMESPORT sources, might be out for up to nine months as a result of the injury.
It is yet another unwelcome loss for Liverpool and Slot, who have also been missing record signing Alexander Isak for the duration of the season due to injury.
With Ekitike likely out until 2027 and Mohamed Salah certain to leave Anfield at the end of the season, the Reds will expedite their preparations to strengthen their front line during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Liverpool Set to Rekindle Anthony Gordon’s Interest
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool is once again investigating a summer deal for Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon, who is interested in moving to Anfield.
The 25-year-old is presently the Premier League’s quickest player, clocking 38.2 km/h during his team’s defeat to Manchester City in February.
The England international has demonstrated his flexibility in a black and white shirt, playing throughout the frontline, including as a centre-forward.
Gordon scored eleven goals in the Champions League before the Magpies were eliminated by Barcelona, demonstrating his ability to replace Ekitike both in the middle and outside.
Gordon has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park this summer, but he is unlikely to be sold cheaply, with the same site earlier stating that they might seek £95 million.
According to GIVEMESPORT senior writer Fabrizio Romano, the Reds may add at least four new players to their roster this summer.
