Martin Odegaard has acknowledged that he is once again suffering with a knee issue as he strives to return for Arsenal.
Due to a knee issue, the midfielder was sidelined for six weeks before making a comeback last week to start against Southampton in the FA Cup.
Odegaard started the Champions League encounter against Sporting but was knocked off the ball in Lisbon after playing for an hour in that game.
He continued for almost ten minutes before going off and the Arsenal captain was then ruled out from Saturday’s loss to Bournemouth.
Odegaard Desperate For An Injury Comeback
Odegaard is “desperate” to return as soon as possible, but it is anticipated that he won’t play in Wednesday night’s Champions League quarterfinal second leg against Sporting.
“I had to go off during the second half of that game in Portugal last week, feeling my knee, which is why I missed the game at the weekend,” Odegaard wrote in his programme notes as quoted by the Evening Standard.
“I caught it a little bit against Sporting, but hopefully it shouldn’t be too bad.

“I’m desperate to get back as soon as possible because this is the crucial period of the season, in the Premier League and Champions League.”
Odegaard must work quickly to regain his fitness before Sunday’s crucial trip to Manchester City.
Arsenal’s nine-point lead at the top of the Premier League would be restored with a victory, but a loss could allow City to take the top spot (with an outstanding against Crystal Palace) before the Gunners’ next game.
