Kylian Mbappe reportedly has four months to activate a one-year extension clause in his Paris Saint-Germain contract, which would keep him at the club until June 2025.
Following speculation over a likely move to Real Madrid, it was confirmed in May last year that the 24-year-old has put pen to paper on a new three-year deal allegedly worth around €50m (£44m) each season with a €100m (£88m) signing on incentive.
However, for several months, speculation swirled around the true length of Mbappe’s contract, and it is now believed that the attacker signed a two-year deal with the option to extend by a further 12 months until June 2025.
Mbappe now has only four months to exercise his option to extend his contract by another year, according to L’Equipe via Marca.
If Mbappe does not trigger the extension clause, he would begin the 2023-24 season with only a year remaining on his contract and will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs starting next January.
PSG are keen for Mbappe to use the extension clause as they wish to not have another ‘busy’ summer of transfer sagas with their best players.

However , recent reports claim that the Parisian giants are willing to cut ties with one of Mbappe, Lionel Messi, or Neymar this summer in order to balance their books.
Mbappe has been on fire this season, scoring 29 goals in 29 games across all competitions, including 17 in 21 Ligue 1 appearances.
Manchester United have recently emerged as a prospective bidder for Mbappe, with one report stating that they could launch a big-money bid to capture the Frenchman this summer.
Real Madrid may be tempted to rekindle their interest while Liverpool are also said to be interested.
