Jose Mourinho has reportedly identified Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as his next major transfer target as Real Madrid continue to strengthen ahead of the new season.
The Portuguese manager has already overseen a busy summer at the Santiago Bernabeu, with Marc Cucurella, Ibrahima Konate and Bernardo Silva among the players brought in as part of the club’s ambitious rebuild.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a number of high-profile names, including Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez, although their sizeable offer for the Argentine was rejected earlier this month.
Enzo Fernandez tops Mourinho’s midfield wishlist as Los Blancos eye another marquee signing
According to reports in Spain, Mourinho has personally asked the club’s hierarchy to explore a move for Fernandez, who remains one of Chelsea’s most important players. The Argentine midfielder is reportedly valued at around £120 million and remains under a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.
While Real Madrid are also monitoring West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, Fernandez is viewed as a priority option should the club decide to make another major investment in midfield.
Despite speculation surrounding the 25-year-old’s future, there has been no official contact between Chelsea and Real Madrid. However, reports suggest the Spanish giants could test Chelsea’s resolve later in the transfer window.
Cucurella, who recently completed his own move to Madrid, has openly backed a potential reunion with his former Chelsea teammate, reports Sports Bible.
The Spanish defender praised Fernandez’s quality and admitted he would be delighted to see him arrive at the Bernabeu, describing the midfielder as both a great player and a close friend.
Fernandez has previously spoken positively about Madrid as a city, although his representatives have insisted those comments should not be interpreted as a desire to leave Chelsea.
For now, Real Madrid’s interest remains at an early stage, but Mourinho appears determined to continue reshaping his squad with another marquee signing.
