The Portuguese midfielder’s announcement as Real Madrid’s newest addition sparked messages from competitors, former teammates, and teammates worldwide.

The midfielder, who started for Portugal in their World Cup opening match against DR Congo, struggled to have his typical effect and was replaced before halftime.
