The World Cup final is scheduled to take place on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where Trump is expected to play a prominent role in the post-match celebrations.
Infantino confirmed the plans during an interview with Fox and Friends, revealing that he and Trump will jointly oversee the trophy presentation following the showpiece event.

The FIFA president highlighted his close working relationship with Trump throughout the build-up to the 2026 World Cup and said the pair would be together during the final.
“We will be together with the president enjoying the final and handing the trophy to the winner,” Infantino said.
When asked whether they would make the presentation side-by-side, he responded: “Of course, we are together all the time.”
The announcement comes less than a year after Trump appeared at the FIFA Club World Cup final in the United States. On that occasion, he presented the trophy to Reece James after Chelsea’s victory and remained on the podium during the celebrations, reports RTE.
James later admitted he expected Trump to leave the stage after handing over the trophy but was surprised when he stayed for the team’s celebrations.
Chelsea star Cole Palmer also expressed confusion at the time, saying he had not anticipated Trump remaining on stage during the trophy lift.
The 2026 World Cup final is expected to attract a global audience, with Trump now set to play a key role in one of football’s most iconic moments by presenting the trophy to the newly crowned world champions.
