Christian Eriksen Could Return For Man United Against Everton

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has said that Christian Eriksen could make his long-awaited return to first-team squad for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Everton.

The Denmark international has been out since the end of January due to an ankle injury suffered in the FA Cup against Championship side Reading.

However, Eriksen has made significant progress in his recovery over the last two weeks, and he returned to first-team training on Thursday.

Man United’s manager has said that the seasoned midfielder will be monitored over the next few days before a decision on his inclusion in the squad against Everton is made.

Eriksen was in excellent form for Manchester United before to his injury, appearing on 31 occasions in all competitions and providing two goals and nine assists.

Casemiro’s return would be timely given that he will serve the final game of his four-match suspension for his red card against Southampton against Everton.

Eriksen has one goal and seven assists in 19 Premier League matches this season.

The Dane was again absent for Wednesday’s game against Brentford, which Man United won 1-0 courtesy to a first-half goal from Marcus Rashford.

The win put Ten Hag’s side into fourth place in the Premier League rankings, three points ahead of fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with a game in hand.

Man United have seven games left this month, including league matches against Everton, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, and Aston Villa, as well as both legs of their Europa League quarter-final against Sevilla and an FA Cup semi-final against Brighton & Hove Albion.
