Carlo Ancelotti Praises Real Madrid’s Victory With An Italian Poem

It was another memorable night at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, as Real Madrid defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 to advance to the UEFA Champions League final.

After falling down to an Alphonso Davies screamer, Real Madrid rallied behind a Joselu double to win and secure a spot at Wembley next month.

Carlo Ancelotti was overjoyed when his club advanced to another UEFA Champions League final. According To RMTV.

“And so I repeat, tell me about the sea, sailor,” the Italian remarked in his post-match press conference, referencing an Italian poetry to counter those who claim Real Madrid does not play well but still wins.

Discussing Real Madrid’s comeback, the manager added: “They thought we had died… It was a trap (laughs).”

“It is something inexplicable that can be explained because it happened again.  something magical and the fans have pushed us. I didn’t expect this squad to have the season we are having.”

Giving appreciation to club president Florentino Perez for Real Madrid’s victory, Ancelotti said:

“There is a captain here called Florentino Pérez and the rest of us are sailors.”

“Florentino Pérez has done an excellent job managing Real Madrid like a family. A historic club with a meaningful history and culture, the players are extremely fortunate to be here and wear this shirt.”

Regarding the dispute late in the game, when the referee blew for an offside just before Bayern Munich star Matthijs de Ligt slammed the ball into the back of the net.

Ancelotti said?

“It’s quite clear. There may not be an offside, but the referee blows his whistle and stops play. He officiated the World Cup final, and he is at a high level.”

Regarding Bayern Munich’s complaints about the situation, the Merengues’ manager responded with a grumble of his own, saying:

“If Bayern complain about the last minute play, we will also talk about the goal from Nacho that was disallowed.”

Ancelotti also praised Real Madrid sensation Vinicius Jr., who was named Man of the Match that night, saying:

“There is one final left to play and Vinícius Jr is going to be the star again, few players can do what he has done in these semifinals.”
