Brazil Coach Surprisingly Snubs Arsenal Players In Brazil’s World Cup Warm-Up Squad

The Arsenal trio of Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel Magalhaes have been brushed off by Brazil coach Tite ahead of their World Cup warm-up friendlies.

The three players have played a significant role in helping Arsenal’s strong start to the season, which has propelled them to the top of the Premier League after six games.

However, they won’t be a part of Brazil’s September pre-World Cup games against Ghana and Tunisia.

Why Did Tite Snub Arsenal Players?

In place of the three-goal Jesus, Tite decided to choose Flamengo striker Pedro, who leads the Copa Libertadores scoring race with 12 goals. The forward is brought in as a new attacking option for Brazil.

Meanwhile, Brazil is ready to try out two new defenders called up for the first time, Gleison Bremer of Juventus and Roger Ibaez of Roma, leaving no room for Gabriel.

Martinelli, who has three goals for Arsenal this season also misses out on the squad. However, Dani Alves and Philippe Coutinho were also significant absences from the squad.

Alisson, Fabinho, and Roberto Firmino of Liverpool, as well as Manchester United’s Casemiro and Fred were all called up.

There are also spots for West Ham’s club-record acquisition Lucas Paquet and United’s £85 million acquisitions Antony.

Richarlison of Tottenham, Bruno Guimares of Newcastle, and Thiago Silva of Chelsea, are all on the list.

Brazil are in Group G alongside Serbia, Switzerland, and Cameroon for the World Cup, which begins in November in Qatar.
