Barcelona Cement 2026-27 Champions League Place

Barcelona have guaranteed their spot in the UEFA Champions League for the 2026–2027 season, making them the first La Liga team to do so regardless of their performance in the current edition.

The Blaugrana defeated Rayo Vallecano 1-0 in La Liga on Sunday before the international break thanks to a solitary goal from Ronald Araujo.

With 73 points, four more than second-place Real Madrid, who have 69 after overcoming fourth-place Atletico Madrid 3-2 in the derby, they remain at the top of the table ahead of the international break.

In other centre, Real Betis, in fifth place, lost 2-1 to Athletic Club, while Villarreal, in third place, defeated Real Sociedad 3-1.

UCL Qualification Booked

According to Barca Universal, Barcelona will end the season in the top four thanks to this combination of outcomes. Teams will be vying for a total of 27 points with just nine games remaining. Furthermore, the difference between Barça and Betis is already more than 29 points.

Hansi Flick’s side have so mathematically guaranteed their spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season.

After a 1-1 draw at St. James’ Park, Barcelona defeated Newcastle United 7-2 in the second leg of the round of 16 to go to the quarterfinals of this season’s Champions League.

They will now play Atletico Madrid in the following round, and if they advance, the winner of the tie between Sporting CP and Arsenal will be their opponent in the semifinals.
