Arsenal Willing To Take On Premier League Club For PSG Youngster

Paris Saint-Germain youngster, Ibrahim Mbaye, who has drawn interest from two big English clubs, is trying to extend his contract.

According to The Athletic, Aston Villa were already planning a move to sign Mbaye back in February. The Villans, who are struggling financially, have been drawn to PSG’s breakthrough talent from the beginning of the season and are concentrating on young players with significant potential.

The current fourth-place Premier League team had a plan to sign the Senegal international this summer, but the specifics have not yet surfaced.

According to Sports Mole, Mbaye has been scouted by the Gunners multiple times this season. The academy product had a good start to the season, making 25 appearances with one goal and two assists by taking advantage of gaps in PSG’s attacking line.

He was called up to the Senegalese national team as a result of his performances, and he won the most recent Africa Cup of Nations, but the result is still up in the air.

Since then, Mbaye’s playing time has declined as first-team regulars have returned.

The 18-year-old is reportedly a part of PSG’s long-term plans despite this. The same source claims that even though his contract expires in June 2028, the Parisian club want to prolong it to discourage Premier League interest.

Mbaye would like to sign a new four-year contract with PSG that would go until June 2030.

It is also anticipated that there would be a substantial wage increase. At £780,000 annually, the Senegalese forward presently earns the second-lowest pay in the team, according to Capology data.

He might try to get closer to earning £1.7 million annually, which would put him on par with colleagues Senny Mayulu (£1.8 million annually) and Dro Fernandez (£1.5 million annually).
