Arsenal Star Gives Insight Into Recent Altercation With Man City

In the wake of Arsenal’s recent hard-fought victory over Manchester City, Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal star, has given more insight into a recent altercation involving himself and Ederson, his compatriot and former Manchester City teammate. The intense Premier League clash, which culminated in a late winner by Gabriel Martinelli, saw tempers flare on multiple occasions, most notably at the final whistle when an altercation ensued between Arsenal’s set-piece coach Nicolas Jover and City’s Erling Haaland and Kyle Walker.

However, in a separate incident during stoppage time, Gabriel Jesus and Ederson were the center of attention. As the striker attempted to maintain possession near City’s corner flag, he eventually committed a foul. Following the referee’s whistle, Jesus continued to dribble the ball, prompting Ederson to intervene, resulting in a collision and bookings for both players – Jesus for timewasting and Ederson for the physical contact.

However, Brazilian journalists subsequently inquired whether this incident might impact their cooperation on the national team during upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Uruguay. Jesus addressed the matter in a press conference, stating, “I have a good relationship, not just with Ederson. But on the pitch it’s normal. Ederson and I spent a lot of time together at City and we were very happy. He knows how fond I am of him and I also know how fond he is of me. But on the pitch he defends his team and I defend mine. It was a moment when we were winning and it’s not easy to beat them. We were winning and I held the ball there. Anyway, he ended up giving me a push, but afterwards everything was normal. We came together talking. That’s it.”
