Arsenal has discreetly confirmed that Jakub Kiwior has joined Porto on a permanent basis.
Kiwior moved to Portugal last summer, joining on a season-long loan with the expectation that it will be made permanent at the conclusion of the season.
In truth, Porto stated last week that they had exercised their option to sign the Poland international on a four-year contract for an initial sum of £14 million, which could grow to £19 million.
According to a statement, “FC Porto has exercised the purchase option stipulated in the loan agreement with Arsenal FC and will now permanently own the sporting registration rights and 100% of the economic rights of Jakub Kiwior for a fixed fee of €17 million, plus a maximum variable remuneration of €5 million depending on the achievement of certain objectives.”

“Arsenal FC will keep a set fee of €2 million in any future transfer of the player.
“It is also reported that FC Porto has inked a deal with the Polish international defender that is effective until June 2030 and has a €70 million release clause.
“Arsenal FC will assume responsibility for the solidarity mechanism due to third parties, and FC Porto declares that this transfer did not involve any intermediary intervention.”
Arsenal has confirmed Kiwior’s exit, with the club remarking on the deal in their weekly loan watch.
“Jakub Kiwior’s move to Porto has now become permanent following the Dragaos’ Liga Portugal title triumph last weekend,” a post states.
Kiwior did not appear in Arsenal’s first three Premier League games, although he was an unused substitute in the 5-0 victory against Leeds on August 23.
