Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, has been urged to prepare for a “really dangerous” match when Arsenal hosts Chelsea on Tuesday night at the Emirates.
After defeating the Blues, the North Londoners could increase their lead in the standings to four points, although they will have played two more games than Manchester City, the defending champions.
Pep Guardiola’s team would lead the Gunners by two points even if Arteta’s team defeated Chelsea if they were to win both of their remaining games.
After two straight losses to Aston Villa and Bayern Munich, which eliminated them from the Champions League at the quarterfinal stage, Arsenal had a rough few weeks. Last Saturday’s 2-0 victory away at Wolves was the ideal response.
Mirror confirms Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League remain but Chelsea’s chances of winning the league are very slim.
Mauricio Pochettino’s team will be playing for dignity when they visit the Gunners’ stadium, ranking ninth in the table and out of all cup competitions.
Arsenal Could Win Chelsea At Emirates
Chris Sutton, a pundit and former Chelsea star, has stated emphatically that Arteta’s team cannot enter the match anticipating an easy win.
He said to BBC Sport: “Chelsea put up a strong display even though they lost their FA Cup semi-final match to Manchester City but Arsenal recovered incredibly well after a rough week against Wolves on Saturday and won easily.
“The Gunners are playing in what feels like a very dangerous game, and the animosity between the two teams will definitely play a significant role. In October, Chelsea should have defeated them at Stamford Bridge, but in the closing moments, they allowed a two-goal advantage to escape.
