Arsenal won the Premier League last season, but there were still some gaps in their team, particularly on the offensive side, and Mikel Arteta is expected to address those concerns during the summer transfer window.
It is believed that the Gunners are interested in adding a left winger, and the addition of another striker is not out of the question if the right circumstances and deal arise. Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid is among several players who have been connected with the club.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal and Atletico Madrid have agreed on a swap deal to recruit Julian Alvarez, with last summer’s signing Viktor Gyokeres joining the La Liga giants before the start of the 2026/27 season.

Arsenal’s choice to include Gyokeres in a swap deal is thought to have been made with the intention of lowering the total cost of the transfer while also creating space in the squad to accommodate the Argentine. Atletico values Julian Alvarez at £130 million.
Swapping Alvarez and Gyokeres is quite improbable.
Although there are rumors that Viktor Gyokeres and Julian Alvarez may switch teams, Atletico Madrid is adamant that their star forward is part of their long-term plans, thus it is improbable that such an agreement has been struck.
Furthermore, it is unlikely to anticipate that a deal of such significant value and influence would be completed in a short amount of time because both players in question are now occupied with their respective teams at the FIFA World Cup.
Arsenal’s continued interest in Julian Alvarez is undeniable, and since Atletico is unlikely to want to transfer him to Barcelona, a direct rival, the Gunners may have a good chance of signing him soon.
